If you have done some handy work around the house, you have used a saw. Most saws can do just about anything you need, but a band saw is a different kind of tool, as it is not only versatile, but can open up new ways to work as it gives you the ability to stretch what kinds of wood or metal projects you can tackle.
 
What exactly is a band saw and how does this tool work? Primarily a band saw is a pair of wheels holding a thin rotating blade. Attached to this is a table that supports what you are working on and a motor to run the whole thing. Power Tools for Girls!

I have always been a sucker for power tools because as a woman, and not a big one either, I know that they give me a bit of leverage when it comes to those little projects around the house. What is even better, some companies have made a line a power tools for women, with our hand size in mind. Although when they make them pink it kinda drives me crazy! Just give me power tools I can use, never mind the color!

But I do love that there is more out there for us gals. I even ran across a couple of awesome blogs that are written by women with some fun projects in them. One of them that I have come to really love is Meg’s ToolGirl blog. If you are the kind of gal who loves to putter around the house with some power tools in hand, this is probably your kind of blog.
