Power Tools for Girls!
Posted By denilou on January 19, 2012
I have always been a sucker for power tools because as a woman, and not a big one either, I know that they give me a bit of leverage when it comes to those little projects around the house. What is even better, some companies have made a line a power tools for women, with our hand size in mind. Although when they make them pink it kinda drives me crazy! Just give me power tools I can use, never mind the color!
But I do love that there is more out there for us gals. I even ran across a couple of awesome blogs that are written by women with some fun projects in them. One of them that I have come to really love is Meg’s ToolGirl blog. If you are the kind of gal who loves to putter around the house with some power tools in hand, this is probably your kind of blog.
Apollo Pink Toolkit – Okay- so I guess I should take a look at some of the power tools out there for us girls. The first one is from pinktoolbox, who make a set of pink power tools for gals. I hate that the tools are pink, but since this is used to show they give a percentage to The Breast Cancer Society I can forgive them. Don’t expect anything heavy-duty here. The tools are all very light-weight and the “drill” is actually a power screwdriver, but outside of that they are a good set to give someone as a gift for those little chores around the house. Just don’t expect this set to be up for doing any real projects. Both the hammer and the “drill” are too lightweight for anything but the basic stuff. Still, might get a young gal starting out on her own to think in terms of using power tools to take care of those little chores around the house.
General Tools Power Screwdriver – If you were hoping to use this for general workshop use, sorry ladies it isn’t for that, not enough torque. But for taking apart things like computers, working on jewelry or anything else where you need fine power this is just the ticket. I know of one gal who loves this because she has carpel tunnel and it reduces the pain in her wrist when working on assembly for small electronic gadgets, her favorite hobby. So this is a great little tool for small projects that need fine-headed tools. It runs on two AAA batteries, so be ready to get a big pack if you do lots of fine-scale projects!
Well that is about it for today – next time we will see what we can find in the fun world of tools for our fine woodworking friends. Got a great project you want to share? Let me know, we will post it here! See everyone here again soon as we continue to explore some great power tools for everyone.
